A Lobster Layout!

With warmer weather, visitors are starting to arrive again, yet for some reason, I am taking them North. Go figure. My dad visited us the other weekend, and we ventured into the colder weather. This layout is of us at my favorite lobster roll place before we headed up to Maine.

Materials: Paper: Yacht Club/Whale Watching by Webster's pages Blue/Newsprint in the Year-o-graphy collection by Simple Stories, Corrugated White by The Paper Company; Stickers: Jolee's Boston lobster, Letters from Michael's; Template from Simple Scrapper Premium Membership

Hello bee card

It must be the spring-like weather that's causing me to still think of the Play Date Cafe Challenge (PDCC122) of black, gray, and yellow and how my little bee paper from the nineties would be so perfect. I knew I was saving it up for something!

And so I made another entry: a card this time. I know the mid-tone gray in this card is a stretch (I swear it's in the twine), but it is certainly there in spirit in the black, charcoal, and white coloring.

Hooray for spring!

Materials: Charcoal paper by Bazzill Basics; A vintage bee paper of unknown source, PaperTreyInk white paper, Beetle Black Doodle Twine Spool by Doodlebug Designs; and my own design for the circle

Gallery Pretties Spotlight

I woke up this morning to a slew of emails, one of which navigated me to my twopeas gallery where I had posted my "10 things" layout. Apparently it has been spotlighted on gallery pretties. Which is very cool. And I got a blinkie. Well, the blinkie doesn't blink, but I prefer those. Technically it's a banner, so I should just call it that.

Also, I gave my blog a facelift last night, adding new buttons on the right, a new welcome picture, a new background, etc. Hooray for change!

Simple Scrapper with Journaling Card

In a challenge to use a journaling card, I made this layout. I don't think I have ever used a journalling card {ever} in my scrapbooks, and this did not come naturally at all. I mean, at all. But, I'm very pleased with how it came out.

Materials: Birds on a Wire by Hambly Screen Prints, Book Jacket/Memoir Collection by Studio Calico, Letterset/Calico Classic Collection, Quicksand by Bazzill; Brad by Crate Paper; Journal card by Cathy Zielske from DesignerDigitals.com, Template by Simple Scrapper Premium Membership; Photo taken by Brooke Turner Photography

Baby Boy Pinwheel Card

A friend of mine has officially announce the birth of her adorable son through a VERY cute announcement card. Being a flight and a drive away, I wasn't down south for any of her showers and other fun mom-to-be celebrations, but I am going to sending her a card with good cheer inside.

I wanted something playful and boyish. A navy blue gingham pinwheel seemed perfect (and goes along with the Cure for the Winter Blues Moxie Fab Challenge). I kept the rest simple with more blue and accented with a paper from Studio Calico's Classic collection. (Have you seen it? Be still my heart!) The smily face went on there because I just couldn't resist. I've known this woman since I was born. She gets a smiley face.

Materials: Letterset by Studio Calico (Brown Pinwheels and Vertical Stripe), Cream Woodgrain by Coredinations (stick), navy and blue paper are > 10 and 5 years old respectively, Jolee's smiley sticker

Self-kindness layout

I finished my birthday project/One-litte word page! It's bright and happy and looks way better in person. (Layouts always do, don't they?) Most importantly, it's meant to be a reminder to myself to practice self-kindness.

Materials: Paper: Letterset/Classic Calico and Slideshow/State Fair by Studio Calico, R.S.V.P/Socialite by Bella Blvd, and American Crafts; Amuse Washi Tape; Acrylic paint; Silhouette Cameo; Fonts: Bebas Neue ("29"), Trashhand ("self")
